Sensory therapy

The weekend at ALZHEIMER HOME Zlín was in the spirit of sensory therapy. Together we practiced taste, touch, smell and hearing. 🙂 We started with taste. With our eyes closed, we tasted and guessed different foods such as fruit, honey and biscuits. Next in order was touch. We tried to use our sense of touch to figure out things that were hidden in a wicker basket. We felt things and thought about what they might be used for. Then we focused on smell. The basket contained spice jars filled with familiar spices that can be found in every kitchen. 🙂 Our task was to identify which spices they were. Lastly, we focused on hearing. We repeated the rhythm on the bongo drums according to our activity worker.
