Mother's Day in Filipov 🌺

The history of Mother's Day celebrations dates back to antiquity. In ancient Greek and Roman culture, mothers were revered and holidays dedicated to the mothers of the gods were celebrated. However, modern Mother's Day celebrations did not begin to develop until the 19th century in North America. In this country, it is celebrated every year on the second Sunday in May and was first celebrated here in 1914 and has since become a traditional way to celebrate and honor motherhood and the maternal role. And since our clients are almost all mothers, we don't forget this holiday at our ALZHEIMER HOME facility in Filipov either. Surely they all deserve to be remembered on this day. So we gave each of our "mothers" a sweet little gift and as a bonus we read a short poem, which, as usual, was tied to this festive day. The cards were made by children from the Husova Primary School in Čáslav. Some of the clients' eyes were touched and we were much the same. Of course, we didn't forget the men either and to make them feel sorry, they got a little something from us too. We really enjoyed this holiday morning again and we are honoured that we could make our clients happy again for a while.
